Windows 10 October 2018 update has been halted by Microsoft due to user files being deleted . Many users post the October update reported loss of user data specially from the My Document folder. Microsoft immediately confirmed that it looking into the issue and pulled the upgrade along with its media creation website.
Microsoft's support website mentioned:
We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating.
Till any further updates from Microsoft on this it's advisable to stay calm and wait.
If you lost your data due to the update issues, you can try to recover Windows to a previous update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Go back to the previous version of Windows 10. You can also get n touch with Microsoft on there support hotline.
