Not sure if Xiaomi is still working on the Pocophone F2 anymore. We all know that the Pocophone F1 gave a tough time to the flagship killer and the actual flagships though with some trade offs such as built, camera, screen, wireless charging and software. Now, don't get me wrong. The Pocophone F1 still is a great phone but we all know how badly we were waiting for the successor. But hey! We got the Redmi K20 Pro, the next heavyweight contender from Xiaomi.
It's great to see that the Redmi tag has now been shared with Xiaomi's flagship devices. Both Redmi K20 Pro and the Redmi K20 were launched in India on 17 July 2019. Both these devices are great in their price segment but today we are going to talk about the big brother 'the Redmi K20 Pro'.
In terms of built, the Redmi K20 Pro feels and looks premium with Corning Gorilla glass 5 in the front and back. It comes with a true bezel-less display with almost no chin at all. The Redmi K20 Pro has a 6.39" full HD+ AMOLED (Xiaomi calls it Horizon AMOLED with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut) display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. The Redmi K20 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC (7nm chipset) and comes with 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage options. The phone has a huge 4000 mAh battery which supports 27W fast charging. The phone comes with the 7th generation in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the device. The phone also has an impressive 8-layer graphite stack cooling system that helps in better heat dissipation. It has a Game Turbo mode that reduces network delays and optimises touch latency to deliver the most impressive gaming experience.
The Redmi K20 Pro comes with a triple camera setup in the back. It has a 48MP (Sony IMX586) primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture & 2x optical zoom and a 13MP, 12mm ultrawide lens with f/2.4 aperture. Redmi K20 come with a pop-up camera at the front that houses a 20MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. We have seen the 48MP (Sony IMX586) primary sensor on various devices from different segments such as the Redmi Note 7 Pro & the Realme X under Rs 20,000, the zenfone 6, the OnePlus 7 & 7Pro between Rs 30,000 - Rs 60,000. The results are almost similar with minor differences in their individual post-processing of the images and the camera software.
Being the flagship, the Redmi K20 Pro gets NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also pack a 4,000 mAh battery and gets 27W fast charging support. It will not be easy to buy the Redmi K20 Pro because of the crappy Xiaomi flash sale, so either get ready to play the fastest fingers first on the flash sale day, wait for the flash sale to get over or just go to one of Xiaomi's store in your city. You can buy the 6GB/128GB variant for Rs 27,999 and the 8GB/256GB variant for Rs 30,999.
