The Samsung Galaxy S20 for 2020

I'm sure a lot of you are waiting to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S-series 2020 as soon as the lockdown period is over. Smartphone sales will rise and I'm pretty sure manufacturers will make up for the losses. In the meantime let's see what we have from Samsung for 2020. This time as well Samsung launched three different variants the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 +, and Galaxy S20 Ultra.

It's pretty obvious that Samsung wants its domination in all segments of the smartphone market. The Samsung Galaxy S20 is the most affordable of the S-series to take over rivals such as OnePlus, Huawei Asus, LG, and many others. The S20+ and the S20 Ultra are their class-leading variants. Let's take a look at the specification of the Samsung Galaxy S20.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 seems to be the most practical choice here as it brings the gets the best value for your money. It has a 6.2 inches 1440 x 3200 pixels Dynamic AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz screen refresh rate in FHD resolution. The screen is HDR10+ compatible and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It's interesting to know that apart from the screen size there isn't any difference in the resolution and the refresh rates of the screen across the S-series. The screen comes with an Ultra-sonic under-display fingerprint reader that is really fast and accurate.

The Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra are powered by the Exynos 990 / Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 chipset along with Mali-G77 MP11 / Adreno 650 GPU. This will depend on the market. The S20 comes in just one variant with 128GB internal storage and  8GB RAM. The phone also supports a memory card slot.

Let's come to the most exciting feature, 'the cameras'. The phone gets a main 12 MP (26mm wide-angle lens) with f/1.8 aperture. The lens has Dual Pixel Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF)and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The Samsung Galaxy S20 gets another 64 MP (telephoto lens ) with f/2.0 aperture, 3x hybrid optical zoom, PDAF, and OIS. The third is a 12 MP (13mm ultra wide-angle lens) with f/2.2 aperture. In the front, we have a 10 MP (26mm wide-angle lens) with f/2.2 aperture and Dual Pixel PDAF. The camera should be great and the results should be comparable to the other flagship smartphones in the market.

Let's take a look at some less exciting features that may be great in daily use. The phone gets a 4,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support over Power Delivery 3.0 (25W charger supplied in the box). The phone also supports Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging 15W and Power bank/Reverse wireless charging 9W. The Samsung Galaxy S20 gets NFC for payments, FM radio (USA & Canada only), Stereo loudspeakers for a great media experience, and Samsung DeX support for a fantastic desktop experience.

The Samsung Galaxy S-series for 2020 offers one of the best smartphones available till now and the S20 is undoubtedly the best buy for your buck.
