The wait is finally over! The highly anticipated Apple event on February 19 is upon us, and excitement is in the air as we prepare for the unveiling of the iPhone SE 4. While Apple has been tight-lipped about the details, a flurry of rumours and leaks has fueled our imaginations about what could be one of the most significant updates to the iPhone SE lineup in years. If the whispers are correct, we might see this new model priced under Rs 50,000 in India, making it a fantastic option in a competitive segment.


One of the most exciting anticipated changes is the new design. Say goodbye to the outdated iPhone 7-style look of the iPhone SE 3, which was marked by thick bezels and the classic Home Button with Touch ID. Instead, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a sleeker design inspired by the iPhone 14, showcasing flat edges and a premium aluminium and glass finish, possibly even featuring Apple’s renowned Ceramic Shield for extra durability. And let’s not overlook the improved 6.1-inch OLED display, a remarkable jump from the 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen of its predecessor!

Powering this exciting device, the iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to harness the power of Apple’s A18 chipset, coupled with a generous 8GB of RAM. If true, this would transform it into a performance powerhouse, equipped to handle Apple Intelligence features seamlessly. However, there’s also chatter about the possibility of it featuring the A17 Pro chipset, which still offers flagship-worthy performance as seen in the iPhone 15 Pro.
On the photography front, get ready for a massive upgrade! The iPhone SE 4 is said to boast a stunning 48-megapixel rear camera—an impressive leap from the 12-megapixel sensor on the SE 3. And for those selfie-lovers, a 24-megapixel front camera is also on the horizon, promising sharper and more vibrant selfies!


Perhaps the most intriguing news is Apple’s potential debut of its own in-house 5G modem for the iPhone SE 4, stepping away from its usual dependence on Qualcomm and Intel. While this may result in some limitations, such as a lack of mmWave 5G support and fewer carrier aggregation features compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75, it shows Apple’s ambitious drive to innovate and push boundaries with its technology.
